Derek Leebaert

Derek Leebaert is a technology entrepreneur whose books of history evoke insights on leadership. He won the biennial 2020 Harry S. Truman Book Award for Grand Improvisation. His latest, Unlikely Heroes: Franklin Roosevelt, His Four Lieutenants, and the World They Made was a Wall Street Journal “Best Book” of 2020, and “Recommended Reading” from McKinsey. He coauthored the MIT Press trilogy on the rise of the IT revolution and he’s a founder of the Museum of the United States Army. Derek lives in Washington D.C. and in Connecticut.
