Tracy Daugherty is the author of over twenty books of fiction and nonfiction, including, most recently, Larry McMurtry: A Life, We Shook up the World: The Spiritual Rebellion of Muhammad Ali and George Harrison, and Tales from the Bayou City: A Novel. His work has been recognized with fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts. He lives in Corvallis, Oregon with his wife, writer and musician Marjorie Sandor.
