Perry Pidgeon Hooks, Senior Advisor
Perry Pidgeon Hooks has built her long, successful career on a deep passion for books, authors, and the written word.
Perry is the Co-Founder of Hooks Book Events (HBE), a minority women-owned business that connects authors with audiences. Since its inception in 2007, Perry has played a pivotal role in the growth and success of HBE, producing over 100 private and public events annually. With a focus on excellence and innovation, Perry successfully expanded HBE's services and operations, increasing annual revenue year-over-year and growing the team. Perry recently sold the company to Parnassus Books; a wonderful independent bookstore in Nashville owned by beloved author, Ann Patchett. Under Perry's leadership HBE supported five national independent bookstores with sales and curated events for a distinguished roster of figures, including Nobel Laureates, Pulitzer Prize winners, and MacArthur Genius Award honorees such as Dan Kahneman, Ben Bernanke, Margaret Wheatley, Bob Moses, and many others.
Perry has always been deeply committed to fostering diverse, inclusive spaces for authors and readers alike, continually pushing the boundaries of what a book event can be. Infusing Ideas Everywhere was the HBE tagline! Her creativity, innovative spirit, and respect for discourse brought her to the Jackson Hole Book Festival where she will add invaluable wisdom, creativity, and innovative thinking as a Strategic Advisor.
When Perry is not reading she is texting her two adult children; adoring her 2 year old granddaughter, struggling with hot yoga, swimming laps and enjoying spending time with her husband who is also an entrepreneur. Her side hustle continues to be her political activism.
